8-Step Barre Sequence for Postpartum Lower Abdominal Recovery  (Saturday)

8-Step Barre Sequence for Postpartum Lower Abdominal Recovery

Connecting Diastasis Recti and Pelvic Floor Function

This course explores how to structure a postpartum barre class into eight progressive stages to support lower abdominal recovery.

Participants will learn an eight-step sequencing method based on an understanding of diastasis recti, pelvic floor function, intra-abdominal pressure management, postural changes, and the stages of postpartum abdominal recovery. The course also explains how to design safe barre sequences according to each client’s postpartum stage and physical condition.

Instructors will learn how to arrange exercises based on the functional connection between diastasis recti and the pelvic floor, observe each client’s pressure response, and adjust the sequence accordingly. This enables instructors to create structured and practical lower abdominal recovery programs for use in real classes.

Rather than simply listing general core-strengthening exercises without a clear progression, the course provides criteria for determining which movements are appropriate and which should be avoided according to the condition of the abdominal separation and pelvic floor. It also explains how to introduce suitable movements progressively and safely.

This course is recommended for barre instructors, Pilates instructors, and women’s fitness professionals who wish to work safely and effectively with postpartum clients.
